WrathEd 1.10 has been released!

For those who enjoy modding the most recent SAGE engine Command & Conquer games, such as C&C3 Tiberium Wars and its expansion Kane's Wrath, Red Alert 3 and its expansion, and Tiberium Twilight, WrathEd 1.10 has been released by Darth Jane recently. The changelog is quite enigmatic:

Quote:
This is a debug compile of Beta 1.10
Some definitions are WRONG
People made changes to fix their definitions without giving me feedback, thus I was not able to fix those. If any issues appear and you've got a fix, feel free to create a pull request.

At this moment, WrathEd is the only known tool that allows us to create mods for Kane's Wrath, Red Alert 3 Uprising, and Tiberium Twilight. So, whatever happened there, we have at least a tool supported by its author with the source code available for the public. In PPM, we have updated our Starting Tools for these games accordingly.

In the meantime, jonwil and Darth Jane worked on the ability to use EALayer3 compression on the audio for the Mod SDK. It's not clear if this new WrathEd includes it or is compatible with it at all.

Phobos v0.2 - New release of YR engine extension

$

After 3.5 months of development we're pleased to announce Phobos v0.2 - a new stable release of Phobos YR Engine Extension. Since the first public release a lot of contributors joined us to help push YR modding forward, including such talented people as Uranusian, secsome, Otamaa, FS-21, Starkku and a lot of others.

Many of the new contributors didn't know much about reverse-engineering or how to implement new ingame stuff (neither did I a year ago), but thanks to help of the community (especially tomsons26 and CCHyper) it's not a secret knowledge and everyone can learn it and help. Moreover, I've been working on simplifying the process of contributing even more by writing a dedicated documentation section. We invite everyone to try and help develop Phobos to push YR modding even further.

The key features of this update:

- Shields! Thanks to the combined work of Uranusian, secsome and Belonit now any ingame unit and building can have shields which act as a second HP bar with custom parameters including armor, recharge rates, graphics, animations etc. Moreover, Starkku has added special warhead params that interact with shields in a special way.

Buildings, Infantries and Vehicles with Shield in Fantasy ADVENTURE

- Custom radiation types, which were implemented by Otamaa with help of Belonit and Uranusian based on unused Ares code. You can have multiple which properly blend and respect Affect* tags, so you can make oddities as healing fields for friendlies or something like this.

Different radiation types can blend

- Customizable ore spawners, implemented by me, Kerbiter. You can now have customizable ore type, range, ore growth stage and amount of cells generated. Boring 3x3 patches of undergrown gold are no more!

Different ore spawners in Rise of the East

- Projectile interception logic made mostly by AutoGavy and ChrisLv_CN. You can now have point-defence laser systems to shoot down particular projectiles that were specified as interceptable, a-la Generals.

Projectile interception used in Tiberium Crisis

- Harvester counter implemented by Uranusian. Changes colors and counts harvesters in a customizable way. Now players would be able to easily check the health of their long-term economy and look after rogue harvesters.

Harvester Counter in Fantasy ADVENTURE

- When you found out that some of the harvesters don't actually harvest - you can use Select Next Idle Harvester hotkey command that I implemented to jump to the next lazy harvester that decided to loaf a bit.

- Another hotkey command called Dump Object Info (by secsome with edits from FS-21) is meant to help mod/map developers to see detailed info about some object.

Dump Object Info used in CnC: Reloaded

But that's not all! Those are the biggest and most noticeable features that we introduced in this update. We also fixed a big bunch of bugs from vanilla YR and unhardcoded a lot more stuff. You can read the full list of changes in the full v0.2 changelog.

Hello everyone! Here's a quick overview of the recent progress on some of the Tiberian Sun related mods on the C&C community:

- Dawn of the Tiberium Age:

Dawn of the Tiberium Age has showcased a couple of new graphics such as the Nod Hovercraft Transport and the Heavy Raider, which also seems to be a Nod unit. Both were modeled by Flame.

Quote:
Displaying our new Nod Hovercraft Transport modeled by Flame. Since Nod are highly reliant on strength in numbers, this transport will feature more carrying capacity than the others, but at the cost of a bit of its health.

- Tiberian Sun: Fading Dusk:

Askhati, the mod leader, has posted two videos. One features the gameplay of the mod, where Tiberius plays as Nod against Lylak as GDI. The other one features a sneak peek at the soundtrack of the mod.

And we mentioned Tiberian Sun related, right? Because the next mods are not Tiberian Sun mods, however, their theme is based on Tiberian Sun.

- Tiberian Sun: Rising:

Assassin, the leader of this Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars mod, has posted a lengthy development update article about it. Among many things, it features Sonic emitters for GDI and Divination Towers for Nod.

Hello everyone! As we posted yesterday, the next event of the Tiberian Sun 22nd Anniversary celebration is the Tiberian Sun: Reborn game night. It should happen today in the next minutes, if they do not delay, like the guys from Shattered Paradise did. Here's the self-explanation picture about it:

Tomorrow, we'll have the Tiberian War: Warzone live gameplay stream and Q&A section at 6:00 PM GMT. It should happen at their discord channel. I guess this is the first real Tiberian Sun mod of the event, since Reborn is Renegade and Shattered Paradise is OpenRA. Here's what we know:

Hello @everyone !

As you know we have been included into the 22th Anniversary of C&C:TiberianSun.

We will begin our day with the official announcement of TW:IonShock reveal and the release of the Open Beta.

Where you can have hands on access to TW:IonShock!

Included in the beta will be:

- Tech 1-5 TiberianSun unit sets for 5 distinct faction and 10 houses.
- Beautiful visual maps and the effects TW:WarZone is known for.

by the 15th of August.

Thank you and stay tuned for more information soon.

Yes, it is a bit late to send the questions, I guess. But that's where you should start if you are interested on this mod.

And, in a completely unrelated news about the Tiberian Sun 22nd Anniversary celebration, we have a new music that should be featured in upcoming Twisted Insurrection versions:

.

That's all for today. If you missed Shattered Paradise tournament and want to watch it (and have a lot of free time.... I really mean a lot! We have two videos for you. One from TheKaution and another from NFHAVOC.

Tiberian War: IonShock Beta and more!

Hello again! The Tiberian Sun anniversary celebration event continues and today they are streaming Tiberian War: Warzone (for Tiberian Sun) and what they have released today: Tiberian War: IonShock, a modification with similar settings, but for Yuri's Revenge. Right now, Tiberian War Warzone is being streamed by DannyDanku on Twitch.

Anyway, let's talk about Tiberian War: IonShock whose public beta version 0.6.9 has been released today. It's a mod that brings GDI, Nod, The Forgotten and Scrin to Yuri's Revenge with Ares. Here's some screenshots:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, tomorrow's mod very well known by the visitors of PPM. We are talking about is Dawn of the Tiberium Age. And version 8.3.7 has just been released. Few days ago we mentioned the release of 1.200. For those wondering how did the version jumped so fast, they've renamed the 1.200 to 8.0.0 sometime after my news post. Since then, they've released 8.3.6 and 8.3.7 as bug fixes.

There will be a questions and answers event around 11:00 PM GMT and a game night at 3:00 PM GMT.

And that's all for now. Have fun!

Hello everyone! I've seen a lot of people visiting this place and so many people being shy to share their feelings about what has happened during this Tiberian Sun 22nd Anniversary. Did you enjoy the Dawn of the Tiberium Age live stream today? Share your comments here. Anyway, tomorrow's attraction is Renegade-X, which is an FPS game inspired by Command & Conquer: Renegade and featured on the Tiberian Sun scenario. So, their event will happen at 5:00 PM GMT on their official YouTube channel. Here's what was posted on their Discord Channel:

“Welcome Back, Commander”

We have officially entered August and we are pleased to announce we will be participating in the Tiberian Sun 22nd Anniversary Event!

Since our last public appearance in February - during the Renegade 19th Anniversary Event - a lot of things have changed. But not only that, but we have also been working on new maps,  new features, and new artwork such as our latest addition: The Mobile Stealth Generator!

Tune in on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021 at 5 pm GMT+0 at our livestream on our official YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaiic-yEcwEv8VG6wRaHcDQ

And be sure to check out all the other highlighted Tiberian Sun based projects to see what other fans have come up with to keep the spirit alive! Also stay tuned, because we will be releasing our remix of the Tiberian Sun track 'Scouting' very soon!:musical_note:  And to finish it all off, here's a small taste of what’s to come:

Hello everyone! I hope you enjoying the Renegade-X livestream. It's happening at the moment I am writing this news. But I'm here to inform you of the next event to celebrate the Tiberian Sun 22nd Anniversary. And it's going to be a good one! Tomorrow's livestream will be about Tiberian Sun: Rising, a modification for Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars that brings the Tiberian Sun universe into it, instead of the heresy seen in the original game.

Here are the words from Assassin about the upcoming event.

The good thing of livestreams, game night, and stuff like that is that developers receive feedback from players and that allows them to fix some oddities in their projects. A couple of projects received some bug fixes recently. They are:

- Shattered Paradise Playtest 20210821 fixes some issues like crashes that occur when fighting the AI. There are some other balance changes. The full changelog can be seen here and download is here.

- Tiberian War: IonShock Version 0.70 comes with few bug fixes, such as:

- solved the invisible Radar bug
- fixed missing trees on maps
- added faction icons
- new options to pick random

You can download it here.

Hello again! And this time we'll place the Tiberian Sun Anniversary in stand-by to talk about something interesting for Yuri's Revenge modders. Kerbiter has recently posted some interesting news about Phobos.

For those who are not aware, Phobos is an open-source extension to Ares that extends Yuri's Revenge modding possibilities. Kerbiter has released two versions: one that is stable (0.2.2.1) and another one that is a development version (Build 22).

Regarding the stable version, here's what he had to say:

Quote:
Phobos stable version hotfix v0.2.2.1 is released! Includes the following fixes:

- RadSite hook adjustment for FootClass to support Ares RadImmune; also various fixes to radiation / desolators (by Otamaa)

- Fixed improper upgrade owner transfer which resulted in built ally / enemy building upgrades keeping the player who built them alive (by Kerbiter)

Download at https://github.com/Phobos-developers/Phobos/releases/tag/v0.2.2.1

And regarding the development version:

Quote:
Phobos Development Build 22 is released! This release also includes fixes from hotfix v0.2.2.1.

Vanilla fixes:

Phobos fixes:
- Fixed extended building upgrades logic not properly interact with Ares' BuildLimit check (by Uranusian)

Download at https://github.com/Phobos-developers/Phobos/releases/tag/build-22

Project updates:
- We now have official Chinese translation of documentation which you can access at https://phobos.readthedocs.io/zh_CN/latest/ (by Uranusian)
- The debug config now supports attaching a debugger on game start. You need to detach Syringe first, can do via Process Hacker or VS itself (by Kerbiter)
- Added VSCode configs to attach debugger to gamemd.exe and to debug a dump (by Kerbiter)
- Added a VSCode task/script to update localization files (by Uranusian)

And you can contribute to make this project even better. Just download the latest Build 22, test it with your mod, your changes and provide your feedback to Kerbiter by posting at this topic or at the Phobos Chat section from C&C Mod Haven Discord channel. And happy modding!

The first event should be starting less than 3 hours from the time I'm posting, since the times above are in UTC+2. Most events should be featured at Tiberium Resurrection Discord Channel, except for the staffer's MP match, which is at MarkJFox's Twitch Channel.

If you wanna know more about this mod, this video from Danny Danku seems to be quite complete, perhaps overkill, about it.

Regarding Tiberian Sun: Rising, Assassin has shared some quick videos about some of the features of the mod that were broadcasted at yesterday's event. You'll see stuff about Cyborg Commando, Dropship Bay, Auto gates, and Firestorm Defense, the Tiberium Ecosystem, new multiplayer maps and new musics. Check it out:

Allies Revenge 2 port for CnCNet

ToasterC has posted a port of AR2 for CnCNet today.

AR2, also known as Allies Revenge 2, is a mod that was developed by the good people from Derelict Studios (like Chrono, Godwin, etc) for Yuri's Revenge. The last version, 5.0, was released a very.... very long time ago, like 17 years ago, back when people played mods on XWIS. The mod was abandoned. Its official site no longer exists, although the forums still exist but nobody posts there for a while. So, ToastersC job is an AR2 fan work like few others. But this one is definitely more promising since CnCNet support adds more than just the ability to play it at CnCNet. He has uploaded it here. Here's the official (fan) announcement:

Quote:

It's been 17 years since the last public release of AR2. That's...a long time. So I'm happy to say that you can now download the AR2 5.0 CnCNet/Ares port!

AR2 5.0 CNCNet/Ares Port

The gameplay experience of the original AR2 is almost completely untouched. The Genesis specialize in hovercraft, aerial units, and aura-based technology that allows them both to construct robotic soldiers and to heal their units rapidly. The Nemesis, on the other hand, are more of a brute force sledgehammer with powerful economic and vehicular capabilities. Both sides make use of the powerful alien substance Vinifera to power their war efforts, although Nemesis has taken the lead in Vinifera-based technologies.

There are a total of twelve skirmish maps in 5.0, each of which offers a pretty unique experience. You'll quickly learn that the AR2 team enjoyed adding extra 'twists' to multiplayer maps.

Most of the changes in the port revolve around integrating AR2 with the CnCNet client for online multiplayer, and with Ares to enable a few quality of life improvements/bugfixes. The internal errors that used to plague AR2 have been resolved as part of this port. As a small bonus, the manual has also been extensively re-edited to fix grammar, update gameplay information, and reflect the current status of the mod -- it is an excellent guide for anyone just starting out with AR2's gameplay.

For another showcase of AR2 gameplay, you can also check out last week's AR2 multiplayer stream.

Now that the port is out -- what does the future hold? I've enjoyed working on this enough and people have shown enough interest that I think it is worth continuing to develop AR2. That means there will be another release coming in the future, this time focused on making improvements and additions to AR2 content -- though this original version will always be available for download.

While I have many ambitions for the future of AR2, I aim to stay true to the original design intent of the mod as I understand it, based on collated information from old staff discussions. I'll also need help.

If you have art or mapping skills, or pretty much want to contribute to AR2 development in any capacity, please feel free to reach out. The more of a team that can be put together, the closer we can come to realizing an improved execution of AR2's original vision.

One final note -- you can now talk to other players and arrange games on the new AR2 Discord server. Until next time -- stay tuned for more details!

You can download it at ModDB. Have fun!

Today is Twisted Insurrection's day!

Hello again! The Tiberian Sun 22nd Anniversary continues after a day covering Tiberium Resurrection and, today, we'll see a lot of content about Twisted Insurrection! One of the top mods hosted here, Twisted Insurrection is a Tiberian Sun modification that brings the following scenario: what if Nod won the First Tiberium War in Tiberian Dawn? It features GDI, Nod, and even the mischievous Globotech, amazing graphics, and music (including a new soundtrack from Frank Klepacki himself), among many, many things.

Ok, but how will the event work? That's the one million dollars question of the day... but no, that ain't come from my pocket! I could not find out an official announcement from the TI team explaining the whole thing. What do I know comes from this picture and that one of the TI staff members confirmed at the TI Discord Channel that the event starts at 12:00 CEST, which matches the time mentioned on that picture.

So, following the information that we have so far, here's the deal:

Twisted Insurrection event: 25/08/2021

- 12:00 to 14:00 CEST - Welcome & Casual Games
- 14:00 to 15:00 CEST - Art Contest with Public
- 15:00 to 16:00 CEST - Pretty Bases & Environment Contest
- 16:00 to 17:00 CEST - Live Quesitons & Answers
- 17:00 to 20:00 CEST - Casual Games
- 20:00 to 21:00 CEST - Developer Stream
- 21:00 CEST - Conclusion

For those wondering where to go to participate in this event, I highly recommend trying the Twisted Insurrection Discord Channel. If it is not there, you'll certainly find answers there. It's not clear to me which streamers will stream the Developer Stream.

Regarding the contests, if you are interested to participate, you should work on your submission as fast as possible, because, during the hour of these events, they will only analyze what was submitted on their Discord Channel -> fan creations.

Update: You can watch it live here.

Now we can move forward to the next event: Tiberian Genesis. Today's mod showcase will be Tiberian Genesis, which is a modification for Arma 3, a multiplayer first-person shooter game. Tiberian Genesis brings the Tiberian Sun settings to it, allowing you to play as GDI and Nod soldiers at the Second Tiberium War.

Hello everyone! Yesterday was the 22nd anniversary of the game Tiberian Sun and, yea, a little bit late happy birthday to Tiberian Sun! Over the next few hours, the Tiberian Odyssey's event starts. Here are the details:
